Ingredients
- 4 ounces chocolate
- .33 cup heavy cream
Instructions
We start by chopping the chocolate into small pieces on the cutting board with our serrated knife. Once the pieces are relatively small, we add them to a medium sized bowl.
In a glass measuring cup, we heat the cream for 20 seconds at a time until hot. The hot cream is poured over the chocolate and we let it sit for a minute.
The sauce is stirred with a heat-safe spatula until well mixed. It can be used immediately, or covered, refrigerated, and reheated in the microwave another day.
Today began with forgotten homework (our daughter's) and a mad dash home to retrieve it. Things did not slow down any when it was time for our son's swimming lesson. Robin and the kids had a brief respite at Miss Christine's house. Then it was time for lunch, afternoon school, afternoon nap, getting kids from school and homework.
Our daughter did not look well after school and complained of nausea. We thought it best to stay in tonight and make something with ginger. Dinner took a while, but was well worth it. Leftover steak and mashed potatoes from a weekend meal at Carrabba's find their way into the mu shu.
After dinner and once the kids are in bed, the adults find comfort in chocolate—specifically a thick chocolate ganache. We actually botched the ingredient list (working from memory), but the error only made for a thicker sauce. Oh mistakes!
